Subject: They once had a social life

I've been watching a few S1 eps on my dvds and it ammuses me that Mulder and Scully were once normal people Well, Mulder, I don't think, was ever normal, but relatively normal. They had lives outside of work. They had friends and close colleagues. They had people who respected them. They had other people in their lives besides eachother. How quaint. The ep where Scully ditches her friend's son's divorced father in order to go off with Mulder was a telling and turning point in the relationship. It all started with that decision.....the decision she spoke about in the final scene of The Truth where she talked about what made her follow him and why she'd do it all over again. I love watching the early eps when they were just partners. I lik to sit there and think about how they eventually have a child together. It makes me smile.

Also I have always been a great proponent of the fact that they were having sex before Althings. [oh my chinese dinner is here so I'd better type fast :-)] Over the last few days I've watched the end of S6 and through S7. I tried to get a handle on when they would have started doing it. Field trip started it off with the hand hold but then the declaration of devotion happened next in Amor Fati and then came Millenium. That , I have always said was the first kiss....sign of forwarding into romance. But after that it is hard to tell that they were actually in a full physical relationshp. Going on what the super soldier said about Scully inviting Mulder to her bed they had to have done it at her place first. When? I can't be sure any more and now after watching Althings perhaps that really was their first time. When she finally decided that she was in the right place and that forwarding her relationship with Mulder onto the next plane was the right way to go. I always thought that was when she became comfortable with their previous decision to begin a physical relationship. They leemed more obviously at ease physiclaly with eavchother after Althings so perhaps all those Althings- was -the -first -time people are right after all. Well, that's my musings after watching my fave seasons. 6 and 7. I'd like to think that they did it some time between Millenium and Gold berg Variation/Rush etc.And perhaps they did. But when, I can't be sure. I don't think about XF much any more. But during my holidays when I have time to go back and watch. I like to revisit this age old question again. It's so nice and nostalgic. Reminds me of a time in my life when it ruled my consciousness and subconscionsness. lol
