this is not the time for that" shouted Stardoe as she pounded her gavel with such force that it flew out of her hand straight at Bubba. "The witnesses, plaintiff and the accused have already done so, but here in Shipperville, counsel may remain anonymous if they wish" as she sternly reprimanded the court room. "One more outbreak like that and you will be held in contempt of court!" Looking at the mystery man she said "I do wish you would identify yourself sometime soon. Perhaps KS will learn to behave herself if she realized just who you are!"

As Bubba ducked the flying gavel, his eyes just happened to fall on KS as she crossed her fingers behind her back. "Hmm" he thought "NOW what" as he returned the gavel back to the bench.

"Sorry about that" said Judge Stardoe "slippery little thing. Let's get on with business."

Smiling at the now out of breath judge, the tall gentleman replied "My identity will be revealed in due time your honor. All in due time. As I was beginning to say in my opening statements, my client has been seriously injured by that woman over there. I suspect many residents of Shipperville have also been her victims at one time or another--even you" he calmly said, pointing a finger at the lone Juror. "However we all know that blood is thicker than water and somehow we won't get any sort of agreement from you which is understandable."

Blushing at this, Kande had tolook down at her hands which were tightly clasped in her lap. Looking up at him she could only shrug her shoulders before starting to bite her fingernails.

"During the course of this trial we will produce both witnesses and medical testimony which will proove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant maliciously and cruelly hurt my client" he said, again softly but just loud enough for all to hear.

A hush fell on the courtroom as he returned to his chair next to CW who noodded almost imperceptably at him.

Judge Stardoe pounded her gavel, looked at the clock on the wall and announced "since no cookies were made and brought to this courtroom, I hereby call a recess, send KS home with explicit instructions for making double chocolate, chocolate chip cookies to be brought here by 9 o'clock tomorrow morning." Pointing a finger at KS she also said "and there better not be any sort of monkey business out of you between then and now! Court is adjourned until 9 oclock tomorrow morning" she pronounced, banging her gavel once more. Shaking her now vibrating hand she stood and left the courtroom before waiting for anyone to stand.
