Wow...interesting topic. Don't even know where to begin!

I grew up with Gershwin...and jazz. My Dad was a singer/songwriter/jazz pianist. So, I heard a lot of Art Tatum, Oscar Peterson, Andre Previn, Erroll Garner....and as far as vocalists, Ella Fitzgerald {the BEST!}, Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme....

Then came rock and roll! :)

I have a top 5........well, it's a top 4 and I leave "5" open for everyone else. lol

1. Stones {Brian era and Mick Taylor too}
2. Beatles
3. The Who
4. CSN&Y {and any and all solo, duo, etc.

On any given day, "5" will be...

Nick Drake
The Yardbirds
The Animals
The Kinks
The Byrds
Buffalo Springfield
Jefferson Airplane
Hendrix
Dylan
Tom Petty {with or without Heartbreakers, lol}

LOVE the blues. All of it. Really.

The 3 types of music I don't like....."beach music" {indigenous to the mid-Atlantic states}, disco, and rap.

Of course, classical is amazing too! Love Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Stravinsky....also the romantic composers---Ravel, Debussy, Ralph Vaughan Williams. Love Renaissance music and madricals. And Shaker music and Spirituals...lol, I'm a vocalist. :)

Don't care for "country" unless it's REAL country---George Jones, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, etc. And that's more for historical value than really loving the sound. The husband plays classical guitar, and bluegrass {mandolin} and stuff, but bluegrass doesn't do a lot for me. Love good choral music. :)

I'm sure I'll think of more later!

Ohhh, LOVE South African music. :) And music from other lands as well.
