are all the same ones that Hurley used to win his money. As for the goofy guy down there, I think that Jack is right. The whole thing is one big experiment on society, human relations--how folks get along under a variety of conditions. The lack of food, finding a whole storeroom of food and how everybody acts when this is made public should be interesting. As for Locke, he had such a boring, mundane life with no purpose. Now that he gets (or chooses) to enter "the numbers" gives him a purpose.

How Desmond found his way to the island while on a "run around the world" is intriguing--I would love to find out how they managed to get him to the island.

As for the Others, maybe they were a gang or a bunch of crooks who were on the plane and will continue their life of crime on the island. Who knows--all I know is that they are pretty good at survival and con-games.

If there is an alien connection here in this show I might be a little ticked off. I like alien mysteries but that would spoil what's going on at the moment. Maybe the whole underground thing is attached to a rocket or spaceship which will fly off into space? ;-)
