Re: Canisius/Niagara Game Highlights + Witherspoon Reaction -- Griff70 (Well said), Sat, February 10 2024, 10:13:05
Griff,
You did a great job in encapsulating all of my frustrations. Yes, he has unexplicably taken out key players out of the game at critical times. My first recollection was in his first or second year, when he pulled Kassius Robinson in the MAAC tournament when we were fighting to stay in the tournament. We were struggling from the field and Kassius was clearly our best offensive ballplayer. We, obviously, lost the game. Next year, Robinson transfers and goes on to star at MISSOURI.
In terms of the shroud of secrecy surrounding Stravesky and Long, I still don't know what is going on beyond this vague note that they have lower leg injuries that will keep them out the rest of the season. I beleive they don't lose the year of eligibility. It's easy to speculate what the possibilities are.
It's, of course, frustrating to see Tre get beat up on the court without much help given the players they have. Maybe coach is trying, but I can't see much to free Tre up to get him an open shot. I do respect the efforts of all of the team, but the bench isn't very deep or highly talented.
Frank has been a monster on the boards and on the inside. If the Griffs are lucky, Frank will be around next year.
I wish the entire program a successful future, but it is abundantly obvious what are some of the needced changes that are needed.
