Date Posted: 22:42:38 11/27/11 Sun In reply to: Ron 's message, "Re: Elvis Presley Had (Many) A Clue" on 21:14:14 11/27/11 Sun I don't know what the consummate answer is for this issue, maybe there isn't a final, definitive answer. It'd be hard to write anything every person would agree with. There are few, if any, absolutes. If anybody decided something is an absolute, that would probably an arbitrary decision. I'll need some time to think about this (which means if I figure it out, I'll probably have a long answer, but that's not an absolute prediction). The meaning of "Would Elvis have said this? 'Yes, sir, that's right.' Or would he have figured this Colonel spent too much time sipping too much moonshine?" Imagine “Colonel” Tom Parker, Elvis's manager, saying, "Here's what you do..." My point is - To a guy who was just starting to be known as a professional singer, my imaginary Tom Parker quote would've seemed very strange. That claim from a prospective manager (wanting a contract guaranteeing a 50% manager's fee) about how famous & rich Elvis Presley would be decades later, would have seemed like almost impossible hype. In the mid 1950s, if anybody (who had been a dogcatcher, carnival animal trainer, concessionaire, barker & promoter) said he'd lift a small town boy to that level of fame & fortune, people probably would've said that guy doesn't have a clue. I don't know if anybody had ever reached that level of success before Elvis did. Tom Parker probably started with much smaller promises, as his credibility increased, people would've believed more extravagant claims. When you have a real clue (for your situation), setting long range goals is great as long as you're realistic. To get full benefits from your clue, you'll probably have to share it with others & convince them to help you. Don't try to sell too much of a clue at once, people may not believe it's possible. Besides conditions may change before the full fruition of your clue. What I write as a follow-up to this message will give you everything you could possibly need to achieve ... some success. Almost got carried away with hype. Dennis S. Vogel thrivingbusiness@email.com People don't necessarily believe what's true, they believe what they think is true.
