The cold severity had faded from the old alligator's face when her golden eye lit up. The mismatched gaze and the silence of the girl don't seem to phase him.. he's seen much stranger in his days. Blunt claws and arthritic fingers settle so gently upon the dust-ridden cover of the heavy book, and so gently does he pull it away from the pages, and so gently do his digits' tips roam across the yellowed parchment, tracing over the foreign letters. Melln drifts into a moment of hesitation. He knew this language.. not as fluently as the common speech of Viilei, but well. And he's one person in a billion to know it. Slowly, the wizened Vhistael turns, to better face his one-person audience, attempting to catch her strange eyes in his own deep, dark golden ones for a moment, to show her his readiness and his care. After this, Melln's head bows and he begins to read the ancient storybook..

'There are other worlds than these, or so say the old wise ones. There are other worlds than the place we call home, my child. There are other worlds, where the dragons patrol the skies and trumpet their allegiance to the winds, where firebirds lurk in their flaming, molten pits in the heart of their planet. There are places with creatures both scary and magnificent, and there are places where they are too tiny to be seen without the proper tools.. there are too many to count. Any star, any pinprick of light in the realm of that reclusive night, could be a different world, their own secrets hailing us to unlock them..'
