Subject: Academy’s Cleveland school closed?

I heard all Cleveland parents pulled their kids and transferred to Burke. Anyone else hearing this?

From what I know both schools are still in operation. Google still has the CLE location up and marked as open.

Confirmed, academy cleveland parents pulled kids after worlds. Headed to Burke. Good for those parents.

Good points all about the CLE dancers. Unfortunately, as I call it, RiteRug Dancing™ is still there. One down, one to go...;)

Maybe the good dancers w/morals and talent know what's up and get to better schools in the region! There are 6-8 in Cbus and several in Dayton.

Always been cheaters. Poached dancers from other schools. Used identifiers for judges to see. Who remembers the moles??!!!

Academy has talented folks (no sarcasm) but they are the Cobra Kai in Columbus, when you think about it!

I couldn’t stand the obvious marking of their dancers and the parents don’t seem to mind what this is teaching their children. Obviously the teachers are so insecure in their methods they feel the need to do this.
McGing and OMG also mark their dancers, should not be allowed.
I just hate that this affects children.

The intimidation/brainwashing etc. does a big number on kids at that age. I view the other doj..erm, dance schools (like Irwin or RT/CCD and RRH) in Central Ohio as Eagle Fang, Miyagi-do and TA as Cobra Kai. :)

Dance hard, cheat first, no mercy...

Why would they be tanked? If they learned how to dance from BT and ES then they should have the same skills when transferring. Does he really think he still has that much clout? That if dancing with Burke they will tank?

The real enemy is in the man in the mirror. Everyone will now be watching the scores for the transfers at majors. I’m sure if there is obvious tanking appropriate action will be taken.

Yikes… I hope this is just lost in translation and it isn’t in fact as threatening to these families as it sounds. I’m sure there was a lot that went into the decision to transfer and I doubt that anyone took it lightly. Parents pay a lot of money for this sport and it is a significant time commitment for them. In the end, the schools are businesses, and you are welcome to take your business anywhere you would like.

Anyone that still has access to FeisTV should go watch the rounds with Academy dancers that placed at the top. It is no surprise that dancers would be leaving the school. Special favors were given to their favorites.
-B and E stopped sending text messages and instead made phone calls for favors
-the "favorite" dancers received new dresses that were slightly different that than their old dresses. They had a collar swoop that had a rope that connected to the waist swoop.
-These dancers were told to stand heel to heel instead of crossed on their starting marks.
-between the dresses and the feet, that was the signal to the judges that these dancers should get "special attention"

All very subtle, but once you see it, you can't unsee it.
