Subject: Why is Irish Dancing popular in mid-Ohio?

I'm not originally from the middle of Ohio but there are at least 7 schools in this area. Other areas like CLE and PA aren't as intense--although Irish populations are high regardless in the Northeast/Midwest/Mid-Atlantic states. Maybe it's a regional hobby/sport, like bball is in Indy or football in Texas.

I'd say the Richens connection helps but that wouldn't be the sole (no pun intended) reason.
