Subject: Mid America Schools Ranks at Nationals

I was curious how the different Mid America schools actually did at Nationals (perception isn’t always reality!) so I dug through the data myself and thought I’d share with anyone else who might be curious. Below are the top 26 ranked schools based on what percentage recalled at Nationals. This includes all adults, soloists, and trad sets. No Ceili team recalls were included in the percentage - just individual performer recalls.

1. Smyth - 4 registrants - 75% recalled
2. Clark - 26 registrants - 61.57% recalled
3. Kinsella - 23 - 60.87%
4. Celtic Academy - 5 - 60%
5. The Academy - 34 - 58.82%
6. Corda Mor - 24 - 58.33%
7. Harling - 12 - 58.33%
8. Rankin Holland - 21 - 57.14%
9. Dillon-Gavin - 21 - 57.14%
10. Dennehy-Mayer - 26 - 53.85%
11. Nugent - 26 - 53.85%
12. Beglan - 23 - 52.17%
13. Lavin-Cassidy - 8 - 50%
14. Bell - 34 - 50%
15. Mullane Healy - 45 - 48.89%
16. Richens-Timm - 62 - 46.77%
17. Burke - 14 - 42.86%
18. Dowds - 7 - 42.86%
19. Brady Campbell - 31 - 41.94%
20. McGing - 24 - 41.67%
21. Bellator- 20 - 40%
22. Hogan - 11 - 36.36%
23. Cashel - 20 - 35%
24. Blackbird - 15 - 33.33%
25. Ardaigh suas- 3. - 33.33%
26. Irwin - 9 - 33.33%

It would be interesting to take it a step further and see how many of those that recalled were in the top half vs bottom half of the recall.

Might be statistically significant for some schools

This is how I always consume the world in data and I love the % calculations to normalize and account for different size schools. Makes my heart very happy!

I love seeing all of this. Is there a way to do further breakdown by school in terms of more granular recall data? Good point by the poster upthread about wanting top vs. bottom half recall data.

[> [> I love this kind of stuff as well, but don’t put much into it. A lot of schools will only send top dancers. A better measure would be how dancers that qualified at O for NAIDC did (as opposed to being OC qualified) -- Too much work for me, 21:30:33 09/06/24 Fri (97-127-44-228.mpls.qwest.net/97.127.44.228)

[> Funny to see a certain big school that brags abourt their championships! -- Missing...more, 16:19:03 09/09/24 Mon (NoHost/204.110.222.98)

Have they really fallen. The big T is nothing like they once were.
