Subject: New to prelim/champ stages.

My dancer is new to the prelim/ champ stages.
We were at a feis on the weekend and saw another age group dance before my daughter was up. A dancer from the other age group stopped dancing for 6 bars in both of her dances. I thought that the dancer would have received zeros. This dancer who stopped got placed pretty well which was shocking. We have always been told if the dancer stops on stage it’s a zero. Is this only at event like nationals and majors? Trying to understand the logic as the other girl who was sharing the stage literally danced circles around her both rounds.

Judges often pretend not to see if it is the host school. Happened at a feis we drove from PA to Virginia and the host school’s dancer stopped multiple times. He didn’t know his steps or was nervous. He still made the podium and many parents were livid.

Won’t go back there.
