People talking about lavin cassidy make me mad because all of their dancers are actually good so even if they do cheat they would still win anyway because they put in hard work.

cynically perverts the whole principle of individual competition. It shouldn't take precisely written rules to know this. It's called good sportsmanship and fair play.

Parents who support and applaud this are just as despicable as the TCs doing the cheating. Even if your children are great dancers (some certainly are!), their achievements will be less respected and always have a shadow of doubt cast over them. And you are teaching them that cheating is ok and a necessary tactic to succeed in life. Shame on all of you.

TC told dancers that all schools do this. We left after this was told to our dancers. TC would NEVER actually say the word cheating though, only favors but when there are so many 1st places, that’s not a favor and gave so many excuses.

Parents, dancers and everyone involved knows what goes on.

During the cheating scandal there were actual texts posted from "the Shamacadey" teacher to judges during majors. They included actual numbers of competitors that competed during those majors and were easy to verify. Dress identifiers will be banned next year so the ugly patches and banded dresses will go. One such dancer removed her banded dress for one single major after the scandal and didn't place as high...the next major right back to her banded dress and up she went. And yes people should be mad and dislike people who knowingly stay at a school that cheats.

There 100 percent is cheating. Everyone knows everyone in this "business" (they are pushing products on our kids- the right dressmakers, wigs, makeup and tanning vendors). All of these side people are related and make money from this. The US needs their own organization with actual rules against cheating. The Irish don't care.

Closest school to MidAmerica is in PA for CRDM. There is an Independent School in Ohio called The Ohio Valley School of Celtic Dance and Culture. I just found out about this school and don’t know anything about it. There needs to be more options besides CLRG. Ohio has tons of dancers in Cleveland and Columbus that really could use alternatives.

5.1.2 ‘Identifying Designs’ are defined as any element on any costume worn in championship solo competitions identifying a status of achievement or an Irishdance competition award (i.e. globes).

5.1.4 Solo costumes (including headwear) worn in championship competitions must not include any names or initials. Dancers breaching this rule must be instructed to either amend or replace the costume in order to appear on stage to compete. Dancers who are unable to amend or replace the costume may still participate, but will not be scored. Effective September 1, 2025
