Subject: True Answer: The teachers in Mid-America felt the standard in the other regions was not the same (lower) than the standard in the Mid-America or Mid-Atlantic. That is the real reason. They thought it would be easy to meet the qualifications in the Southern Region or Western Region and they didn't want that to happen

Now some will share some BS that they wanted dancers to support the Mid-American Feises but that just doesn't hold water when they also opened it up to Mid-Atlantic Region. The Mid-America teachers always felt that they were superior to the other regions which lead to rules like this, and others like the short-lived "go-alone" costume fiasco that actually cost more money to parents.
