Subject: In all her centuries, Embyr too had proven to be patient...

...and relish the power in drawing it out in others. She reread the CIM from Lye-Onitron, marvelling at his use of the selfsame encryption technique she and Decius had been using. Why was the pompous Maximal approaching her now? Rugby...that name of course was familiar to her; since the Senate reformed, rebuilding after Megatron II's reign of terror, every senator very carefully placed agents about the SPUniverse, monitoring significant loose ends. They hadn't discussed Rugby, or its existence as an independent entity yet but most knew....they never discussed it, but they all knew it was common knowledge among them. For a Maximal to broach the subject so openly....and then there was the matter of the OTHER Starbase coming online....on that her informants had been disappointinly unreliable. Embyr disliked recieving such news in this way almost as much as the subtle undertone Onitron used. He showed disdain by wasting his encryption on such a trivial message, and she found the gesture insufferable. Others might see the Maximal's reserve and honesty a sign of honor; she only saw quiet arrogance.

But that last part....Embyr had heard well of the Alliance of Deception, but had never taken the time to become involved with the organization. Most of her time following the great war was spent on her obsessive quest, and she had little use for Octane's minions with their recruiting holoflyers. The warrior became more solitary than ever, and as the centuries went by and she arrived no closer to her goal, her need for it increased. Now, returned to Cybertron occupying what might largely be a token seat on the council, she was starting to see the value in allies. Perhaps contacting this AOD might well be in her best interests--if not for whatever scheme the Maximal had in mind.

Embyr put these thoughts aside as she realized Decius had been waiting long enough. Weary, she simply tapped a code into a concealed pad beneath the arm of her chair, and her door slid open with a hiss. The light from the hallway cast a long shadow into the darknened room, ending inches from where the female warrior sat, her disheveled wires casting spidery shadows across her own darkened features.

"Decius. Come in already before the drafts slow my servos.

We finally get to chat..."
