Subject: Spicing things up?

Hello fellow FWLers,

I am the only one who thinks things have been a bit tame
for the last couple of seasons? It used to be that every
few days there would be 'press release' from one team or
another, stating how badly/well they were playing and how
so-and-so was up for trade/knighthood. Now, these seem to
have just about dried up. Apart from the 'Whispers' there's only a handful of GMs who regularly contribute.

I'm not exactly a shining example. I haven't sent anything
in for a while. But, in my defence, I did write game reports
for two seasons (for which no-one but Mario and Paul ever
seemed grateful). I'll admit they weren't much good, but I
had to write them during my lunch-hour whilst practising at
FIFA 2000 so I didn't get beat by my office-mates every
time! At least I tried!

So, how can we spice things up? A couple of ideas :-

1. the home GM in every game has to write a game report, or they start forfeiting draft-picks or free-agent allocations.
If the reports are biased, all the better!

2. Go back to one game every two weeks to give GMs a
chance to write 'press releases' and make more trades and
roster changes. Not sure about this one!

3. A supplementary draft in which only the more active
GMs can take part.

I know that being active in the league takes time, and we
all have others to do (I hope), but the league runs the
risk of stagnating if people start losing interest.

Just a thought

Andrew
Paris - aiming to reach 3-11.
