Obviously he felt good about his chance to unseat Todd Bouman for the #2 spot in Minnesota next year. :)

It's weird, I've lost two young QBs who are maybe a year or two away from starting either with me or someone else. I lost Wally Richardson (who might have been my starter in S6) to retirement and he was only in his 4th or 5th year.

To my mind, this was a strange year for retirements, we had comparatively few "middle" retirements, most of them were old guys (and even at that, not all the old guys you'd expect), and a few really young guys, and that's it.
