• He rubbed a hand over his eyes when he heard her at the door, shaken from the sleepy trance like state he was working in. "Yeah babe, it's open." He set aside what he was working on and waited for her to come into the room. He mostly wanted to go to bed, and figured he would be able to get up in the morning early and finish up, but now that he had everything laid out he might as well finish. "How was the baby?" • She opened the door and let herself in. closing it behind her. She wandered into the red-lit room and pulled herself up onto an empty counter, rubbing at her eyes sleepily. She was tired but she couldn't sleep knowing he was still down here working, so she'd come to be with him. "Got much more to do?" • He moved past her with a tray of photos, pausing to kiss her lightly. "About another hour's worth... you can go to bed, don't worry." He busied himself a bit more, his work ethic shot into overdrive... or at least normal speed now that someone was there watching him, his feet and fingers drug a lot less than they had been before. "That's good... according to mom, she'll come, it will be like someone's flicked a switch in her brain one of these days." He offered her a bit of a smile and then moved back to the tub of chemical. • She smiled and returned his kiss sweetly, yawning and stretching a little to wake herself up "No its ok... I can't sleep." She wanted to spend time with him anyway- whether it was sleeping or chatting to him and keeping him company while he worked. "Yeah I hope so... the annoying thing is she trusts me and follows me around like a pocket pony when she doesn't have the halter on." She shrugged her shoulders a little, letting her legs swing "You're going to be swamped... At least you finish school soon." They had timed things pretty well really- he was finishing school just as she was about to start- so things wouldnt be too tight financially- especially since Lacey had a full scholarship. He grinned a little as he thought of the filly - he had never been overly interested in the horses, they were his mother's thing, and he just liked to take a less hands on approach and photograph them instead of riding them, but he was quite interested in Mia. "I know, I can't wait to be done with school.... I just I could just fast forward things by a couple of months." He had said it before, but he meant it more than ever now. • He nodded a little but stayed silent for a moment as he worked, focusing on the task at hand to get himself through this so he could fall into bed, and then out of it too few hours later. He finally sighed, pushing the stuff away, unable to keep his eyes from going out of focus. "I have got to go to bed... I'll get up in a few hours and finish this stuff, then... it'll be pushing it, but I can't keep my eyes open a second longer. Thank god I don't have school tomorrow. Bah." • He laughed a little bit as she suggested he miss the meeting. "I can't leave you with her unattended or you'll cancel everything and have us eating bread and water at the reception, which will be in our living room at the new house." He teased her - she had taken some convincing to have the quality of catering and the like that he had wanted - "And I don't think your bridesmaids will ever forgive you if you make them wear paper bags." • He laughed a little bit as he helped her down off the counter and frowning when she stubbed her toe. He guided her the rest of the way with hands on her hips so she didn't have another similar mishap - he had long ago learned the intricacies of his dark room and had avoided the dooming feeling of stubbing his toes but she was still getting used to the nooks and crannies. They emerged and took the short route down the hall to his room. He yawned a bit as he pulled his shirt off and slid himself under the still mussed covers from earlier. • She hurried right into bed as soon as they got into the room, burrowing deep in the covers in the middle of the bed "Why?" She murmured with a grin, snuggling up close to him. She hardly noticed the smell of chemicals on him anymore- and she was glad just to have him here with her to bother about the smell- which she honestly kinda liked anyway. "Is it the blond curls? • He laughed, reaching out to take a few curls around his fingers, playing through them gently. "That must be it. Very fairytale princess... I love it." He reached for her, drawing her up in his arms easily and holding her, chest pressed against chest, his face buried in her neck. "I don't know what it was." Maybe it had all just been a part of his desire to provide for her - and give her nice things that she wasn't accustomed to - he had done that from day one and he supposed it must have carried on even after he knew her better and came to learn that she wasn't all that interested in those things. • The things he gave her were worth far more than money could buy- love, hope, trust. he had opened up the world for her and she was more grateful than he would ever know, and her not wanting a big marriage was more to do with her personality and her family's situation than anything else.
