First the budget was too big.
Then it got shelved because nobody was interested.
Then the budget was too big.
Then nobody could do the effects they wanted.

I wish they'd make up their minds. I'd like to see what a competent producer could do with it.

the bit in the paper that I saw said Mos Def (think he was in The Italian Job) had signed on to play Ford Prefect, and Zooey Deschanel (sp?) had signed on to be Trillian. But then again they might have gotten that far with the previous projects too.

...which, personally, is a far better exploding whale story for you buck. Plus, I have the video of the exploding whale, it is the FUNNIEST SHIT EVER.
