Subject: Last post for a coupla days...
In reply to: Redwood, Washi, Gutadrae 's message, "Enter the Big Kahuna! *GONG* And her stalker... =O,o=" on 18:20:01 08/26/02 Mon

The Governor snarls openly at Collie's suggestion of energy mages. "I will have nothing to do with magic-users," she spits, ears flattening against a broad skull. Then, heavy brows rise at the Dus Garou's little speech, and she cocks her head curiously. Akartis' own eyes go wide at this and he stares at the small canine, well-remembering the Guardian's whose child he grew up with, and unable to comprehend that his one-time idol is now this... female. His ears flatten and he lowers his head, half-closed orbs gazing blankly at the ground. No. She's his daughter, nothing more. I cannot see Collie in her. Redwood notes her son's behavior but for once, says nothing of it - the loss of Collie as a Guardian had hurt even her, and it was during Akartis' time of rule that he had gone. No doubt the tan still blames himself for the Canoid's death. But she nods, once, a swift precise movement, before moving on.

Redwood's muzzle swivels to listen to Esaki, and as the Korisva finishes, she snorts. "Time-traveling. Right." Flicking one ear disdainfully, she shakes her head. "You are a Korisva, and I can tell you're somehow related to my species. And to Canis. This part of the story I'll accept as truth." Burning blue eyes settle on Devan. "For you to train a warrior as conspicuous as this one without informing me nor my son..." Ears flatten and teeth are bared for a moment... before Redwood laughs. "Considering that scent, I have to applaud you for keeping her a secret so long!" The red laughs heartily, but briefly.

Then the Original turns her gaze to Seleth, trusted ambassador and diplomat, and her old-time friend. Icy blue eyes darken in thought, and the Korat stays silent a long time before speaking in a low and chilling voice. "Lavana has more trouble than she can handle at the moment, both in deep space and on her soil. I will not give you details, as you would not understand, unless you know my planet's history very well." One eartip cants towards TFD and Redwood pointedly thinks, Evil is rising once more. That is why I was detained, and why you and your Terolians had to, as humbling as it was, come to my rescue, trusting the Kumayaki to read her thoughts, as always. The big Korat shakes, sending ripples through her thick pelt, before speaking in her normal loud voice. "A new gun is a nice thought, but I don't think we have any competent engineers on-world, let alone the materials needed. However, I will inform those with technological inclinations to try. Lavana may be able to send scattered warriors to our aid, but not the numbers needed to turn the odds in our favor."

Throughout this discussion, Akartis and Gu remain silent, the younger tan alertly taking it all in, and the older staring at the floor, listening nonetheless.

And at TFD's mention of her planet, Redwood turns a grin on her friend. "If you can arrange that, and get in contact with Anyana, then do so. Perhaps your people can find a new weapon. And even if they can't..." the Korat laughs devilishly, "then at least, have them send a few Ayas our way."

Abruptly, Gu stands, taking the floor for himself. The red turns a slightly surprised look on her son, but he speaks, ignoring his mother's gaze. "There is also the chance of receiving ground-based help from Raobé. Their planet is defended by excellent pilots of the Adochi race, and while the Adochi are too busy saving their own tails to help us, other Raobéns might be inclined to assist Terole." The sunlight-furred male grins slightly, "I would also suggest asking help of Shakala, but I believe the temperature difference makes that highly unlikely, if not impossible." This gets a grin from Akartis, as the young adult thinks of the 300+ degree change between wintery Shakala and desert-like Terole. Finally, the male looks up and watches his brother speak. Gu continues, "Raobé is a good chance; none of our other contacts can aid us on the ground. And unless we build a fleet of crafts, we don't have much chance in the air." The slender tan settles back on his haunches, relinquishing the right to speak.

Redwood cocks her head thoughtfully, then nods. "We're getting some good ideas for action. As of now, there is a tentative plan to send Seleth, our amabassador, and..." a quick glance around, "Washi to Raobé to obtain assistance. If necessary, Collie and/or Akartis will accompany them, but Raobé is not as dangerous as Lavana. Two Canis should be sufficient." Her blued-iron gaze focuses on the two Ayas in their midst. "If you can't contact your planet, use the Portal and go through physically, TFD. And take the green one with you. I risk nothing before battle even begins."
