I hope you all don't mind if I vent a little here. I'm frustrated and getting depressed. I received a call last Thursday from my long term disability insurance (through my employer). They are trying to cancel my policy. Their "indepedent physician consultant" (aka doctor who couldn't cut it doing patient care so went to work for an insurance agency) decided I'm well enough to work because there isn't any "objective" evidence in my file. What it's really turned out to be is that my doctor is a family doc and we haven't done the pain clinic-specialist referral-tests-more referrals in the last 2 years since I became too sick to work. We didn't think it was necessary since we had already done it all and nothing has helped.

Now I have 6 months and no money to appeal. I'm calling SSDI today to see when they think they are going to start paying me. I was fully approved in October 2003. I'm also going to call attorneys to try to find someone to help me. I really don't feel good enough to fight this battle anymore. Even though I have SSDI coming eventually, we really need my LTD insurance. It covers the health insurance premium for our family as well as will make up the difference between what SSDI pays and what I've been getting from the LTD insurance. I'm beginning to wonder what I paid the premiums on the LTD rider for? Headaches? Having someone imply I'm lying? SCREAM!!!

This last week has been so difficult. It started Tuesday when my dentist pulled an impacted wisdom tooth out of my mouth. Everything causes flares. I guess it really started a few months ago when the FDA through a cog in the system and recalled all long acting guaifenesin. I haven't been able to get guai without other ingredients in it for 2 months and not being on it has caused me to get a lot worse. Anyway. . . it all hit me this week. I've been throwing up again and all the symptoms that I had in July of 2001 that made me stop working are back in full force . . .not just a flare. It's frustrating to be this sick and not have idiots believe you. I wish I was smart enough to find words for the letters in the word "idiot" to describe doctors who mess up FMS patients lives by not believing them.

I hope you all are as well as can be expected.

Take care and thanks for listening.

Alison
