 His stomach lurched as she broke into tears. He inched his way forward and lightly nuzzled her cheek, his tail tucked between his legs and ears pressed flat against the side of his head. He wasn't going to pretend that this wasn't awkward. Flash wished someone would just fastforward to the next day, where everything would be back to normal, as if everyone had been there all along and nothing had happened, the day would be sunny and warm and perhaps they could all go hunting, or go to the lake and just have a good time. Why did everything happen at night? "More than you could ever know, my love. I think even the brute behind me missed you." Flash felt ashamed that he couldn't remember what his mate's voice had sounded like, but upon hearing it now it was more beautiful and soothing than he could ever have tried remembering it to be. "Hey Ash." He grinned, still feeling ridiculously... well, stupid. Flash's tail was every so slightly wagging from side to side as he looked between Fiery Ash and Ice Baby, and it only came to him now how incredibly he had missed them both, far more than he had previously thought. "I... dunno what to say." he gave a small breathless laugh and he relaxed a bit, only realising now he had been tensing himself as if expecting something sudden. Well, that wasn't so bad, I guess... he thought to himself. |
