Having had the honour of managing the semi-successful Aber CC six a side team last summer, I must convey the tale of aan ammusing incidet concerning Mr OM Torri, who assumed leadership of matters on the field. In discussing tactics prior to a game, this author expressed his desire to bowl Mark Lloyd davies towards the end of the innings, and himself at the start. Torri did not agree with this advice, and as a result he chose to reverse what we had talked about. I am told that the conversation between him and Davies before the first over, went as follows:

Torri:"Mark, as the most inexperienced and worst bowler in the team, I am not going to harm your confidence. If I bowl you last, they will smash your long hops, so have a bowl first"

Mark: "No probs"

Mark bowled his six ball over, which went 1 0 2 0 2 2. This proved to be one of the cheapest overs in the whole tournament.

Torri bowled the penultimate over, thinking he would be able to use his experience to nullify the effect of the batsman's experience. His over went 4 6 4 2 6 6. One of the most expensive overs of the tournament

Torri is still adimant that he made the right decision.
