I'm looking for a good condition used small car that has a thrashed engine to do an electric conversion on. There is a local electric vehical assosiation that has a variety of skills and ideas for converting production cars for use as commuter vehicles.

Basically, I'm looking at gel pack batteries, and having electric motors mounted to all four wheels. this would allow me to cut out two wheels when I reach cruising speed, saving battery power for increased range and accelleration.

Any thoughts?
