It takes time to build up competition. We've already seen a huge leap in skill level from the first Os that held an adult championship in 2018 to what we have now. It literally can only get better. If we have levels, and age groups, and qualifiers (all of which the adults want)... First off, we'd see a jump in feis participation, because it would finally mean something beyond grades. We'd also see the skill level rise, the system is designed to promote the best dancer to the next level. The more dancers that are involved, the more competition at each competition, the harder everyone has to work to start on top and keep up. We saw this as the kids competition and skill level has evolved over the past thirty some odd years. But people call out the adults for not being as good. It takes time to build that competition community. The adults are only 7 years into getting any consideration at the Os and Nans levels.

Excellent points. And we can’t forget that many of the senior ladies who are already recalling and medalling at worlds are old enough to be in these expanded age groups. -- Standard would already be high, 14:09:57 07/03/24 Wed

  - It's frustrating that the teens who are working their way through the grade levels, into prelim, and up into open would love to go to nationals but it must be earned, but the adults get these opportunities handed to them and the squeaky wheels want their cake but don't want to compete against people who are. better than them (NT) -- Giving some adults a bad rep, 05:44:21 07/04/24 Thu
