I had nothing better to do so I counted the 2024 WMHs. Here they are listed by country, I have regional breakdown too.

* 'Unsure' refers to a school that is listed as something like 'USA and Ireland' and I'm not sure where the dancer actually resides (some I knew and have put in the correct region)

BOYS & MEN
Ireland - 51
USA - 32
Great Britain (E, W, S) - 17
Canada - 4
Australia - 3
RCCEA - 1
Unsure* - 7

GIRLS & LADIES
Ireland - 93
USA - 60
GB - 58
Canada - 14
Australia - 7
Unsure - 4

TOTAL
Ireland - 144
USA - 92
GB - 75
Canada - 18
Unsure - 11
Australia - 10
RCCEA - 1

So yes, Ireland is smaller, but it's punching above its weight in terms of success at the Worlds which is to be expected.

You need to look at this as a percentage of all dancers from that country for it to be a relevant comparison. These are just counts. (NT) -- Duh, 23:49:11 12/10/24 Tue
