Subject: The other side of the medal is Scientology

The quoted article and all the links you gave except one are from the CESNUR web site.

Are you aware of the fact that this web site was made by Scientology for cult apologetic purposes?

For information about CESNUR,
see here: www.kelebekler.com/cesnur/eng.htm or
see here: www.apologeticsindex.org/c10.html.

The only link not from CESNUR was from Jeffrey K. Hadden's "Religious Movements Site". Hadden is considered a cult apologist. See www.apologeticsindex.org/h14.html#theo. Quote: "Not surprisingly, Scientology's so-called 'Cult Awareness Network' listed Hadden as one of its 'professional referrals.'

UBF has a tradition of pulling the same string with Scientology. Samuel Lee repeated Scientology's slandering against the former CAN director and profited a lot from Scientology's taking over of CAN.

By the way, we are not talking about whether the original claims about "Chinese brainwashing" were true or not, i.e. the short-term brainwashing of prisoners of war. We are talking about long-term brainwashing in cults (such as Scientology). For this more subtle form of brainwashing, the terms "thought reform" or "mind control" are more appropriate in order to not confuse it with the brute-force short-term brainwashing of POW's. Though for simplicity we simply call the phenomenon brainwashing, just as we call totalist religious groups simply cults.

Only cult apologists try to maintain the claim that "brainwashing" (in any meaning) simply does not exist. Every rational person simply knows from looking at the facts that brainwashing does exist.

If brainwashing does not exist, why do you think the Jonestown people killed themselves? Why do you think that Bin Laden's followers are so devoted in killing themselves and others?

So, all you have to say in order to defend UBF is to quote some Scientology webpages? Shouldn't this ring some bells in yourself even?

Also, you didn't answer my question why - if brainwashing does not exist - Stephanus Park in Bonn and Samuel Lee in Chicago claimed that UBF critics did exactly this with UBF members? How could Donna become a "brainwashed vegetable woman" if brainwashing does not exist?

What will you do next? Maybe give us some links from Moonie websites in order to propagate the idea of leader arranged marriages?
