Subject: Not my business because of what UBF teaches us

We are at fault for not speaking up when UBF leaders mistreated us and other people. However, the UBF leaders, are also at fault. The UBF leaders engrained in us that they were great servants of God who should not be questioned.

One time another shepherd asked my chapter director for a ride home because his car was not working. My chapter director responded "No," but then without asking me stated that I would take the shepherd home. I was willing to take the shepherd home, but I did not appreciate my chapter director imposing this on me. He should have asked if I could give the shepherd a ride home. I wanted to make this clear so I told the chapter director in front of all of our chapter members that he should ask me first and that he was to never tell someone that I would do something without asking me again. At the next Friday testimony sharing, the director's wife used her testimony to rebuke me for being selfish and disrespectful to my chapter director. I confronted my chapter director's wife after the meeting and we had a heated exchange. My chapter director broke up the argument and said that he should have corrected me. Basically, I was wrong to correct his rude behavior in front of others while he could say and do whatever he wanted.

Chris, if you had spoken up honestly to Abraham Lee, you would have undoubtedly being severely rebuked and made to write a long repentant testimony for your disrespect and pride along with whatever other training Kaleb Hong could think of.

The scripture in Luke in which Jesus states that it is terrible to sin, but that the one who caused the person to sin we have been better off having a milestone tied around his neck and be thrown to the bottom of the sea provides the appropriate reference. Not speaking up when witnessing abuse against ourselves and others is terrible, but the ones who taught that it is wrong to speak up when witnessing abuse would be better off having milestones tied around their necks and thrown into the bottom of the sea.

In Christ,

PECAS
