Her death is an "Oh, by the way, did you hear that so-and-so died..." in UBF. She died a nobody by UBF standards, married to someone who is considered less than a nobody by UBF standards (not by my standards). No one knows or cares what she suffered as a young recruit. She was overweight, but apparently intelligent and promising, so to make her a viable "marriage candidate" she became a recipient of special "diet training" administered by Sam Lee and "housekeeper" training administered by Grace Lee. I think she had to live in the Lee's house during this "training" period. Grace Lee once complained that Regina had the gall to try to use a cleaning product to clean the bathtub instead of just plain water (the gall!).

She apparently lost a lot of weight as she was being prepared to ubf-marry or get ubf-engaged to Lomahan. Then shortly before the marriage or engagement, it came crashing down. She suffered a massive mental breakdown of some sort; I have little doubt that the Lee's treatment of her (including starvation training) and UBF's environment and impending ubf-marriage triggered it. I don't know if she had mental problems before she was recruited, but her problems continued and required medication, probably up to the time of her death. I remember Lomahan saying to me shortly after her mental breakdown, "Can you imagine, I could have been married to HER?" Such compassion!
