Subject: Even for those...

Even for the people who had no sexal desires or expressed such a thing, it was made clear that if they would uphold relationships with members of the opposite sex, sooner or later "desire will get them".

I know, because most of my friends were girls.
I never had a romantic interest in the one who was closest to me, yet they advised me to not spend time with her (she even came to study the Bible 1:1 with me!) or else... you know.

I had very positive relationships with some girl "sheep" in my chapter, but I was rebuked for that. Again, no sexuality included but really, solid biblical talks and thoroughly Christian fellowship.
But my motive was turned into "potentially sexual", and when I said that clearly was not the case, they put the onus on the poor girls "they only stick up with you because of romantic interest".

They really like to use sexuality as a snare to catch anyone somehow and paint them as sinful, even if there's no reason for that.

Please do not ignore how UBF weasles around the passages in the Bible where men of God spend time ALONE with members of the opposite gender. They turn them into "1:1 Bible study" situations, to get any potential friendship (even if it's not romantic) out of that and fit it into their doctrine.

Interestingly enough, I had a dream about a girl which to me was a personification of the UBF, and this dream was romantic at first, but later turned gruesome. Much later, it became clear to me that my Christian life in UBF left no place for romance (even for romance with Christ... the sweetest love relationship anyone can ever have) but that anything romantic was to be considered ugly in UBF.
"Study Bible = good. Emotion = bad." That's how the UBF teaching regarding relationsips can be summed up.
