I had just gotten in my car to leave MSU when I saw Sarah Barry come out of Wharton Center across the street. I jumped out and rushed over to seize the opportunity. So here's what our conversation went like:

Amy: Can I ask you some questions?
Sarah: Sure, can I ask you some questions? How is Jamie? How are your kids? Do you go to church?
Amy: Jamie & our boys are doing good. I go to Harvest Bible Chapel; did you ever hear of it?
Sarah: No.
Amy: It's really great. The teaching is so bold and powerful. Now I would like to ask you some questions. What do you think about abortion?
Sarah: Well, in my opinion it's wrong; I'm against it. But you know me; I never got married. I never had the chance.
Amy: Why didn't you try to stop Samuel Lee when he told Rebekah Yoon to get an abortion? why didn't you tell him it's wrong? The Bible is very clear about abortion. Psalm 139 says God created us in our mother's womb and that he knows us from inside the womb. In Jeremiah 1, he called Jeremiah to be a prophet from when he was still in the womb.
Sarah: Samuel Lee is accountable to God if he did such things. He doesn't need to confess to you or anyone.
Amy: No, that's not true. James 5:16 says, "Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other...". In 1:1 Bible study and testimonies sheep are supposed to confess their sins and repent every week in front of others. If the sheep do this so should the Bible teachers and leaders. It's not the hierarchy UBF makes it out to be. The Bible says we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. What about the testimony of Ki-Chul Oh? His wife was made to get 2 abortions by Daniel Rhee's wife without the husband even knowing about his wife's pregnancies until many years later. He was so hurt and outraged when he found that he would have had 2 children that he left UBF only to be slandered in the next Sunday message. Just because he rightfully left UBF, they said 'He left Jesus'.
Sarah: I don't know anything about those abortions.
Amy: What do you mean you don't know anything about those abortions? You are the leader of UBF, 1 of the top leaders. How can you not know about the flock under your care?
Sarah: Samuel Lee is (pointing upward) in heaven now. You can ask him about those things someday when you get there.
Amy: I don't really think he is up there based on the fruit of his whole life.
Sarah: Why are you here?
Amy: Jude 3 says we are to contend for the faith. The context of that verse explains we are to contend for the faith against false teachers. Titus says we are to refute and silence false teachings. Ezekiel 3:18-19 say if we know about someone's sin we are to speak up and dissuade him; otherwise if we do not, we will be held responsible.
Sarah: Oh, you know the Bible. Would you like to study the Bible with me?
Amy: Sure (kind of sarcastically; not realizing til later how she convienentially changed the subject), let's meet at Harvest Bible Chapel (she ignores this & doesn't agree to it by the look on her face & guestures).
Sarah: How do you know things haven't changed in Chicago UBF?
Amy: Because I still have friends in Chicago UBF. They tell me. Sarah, very soon you & I will be standing before the judgment seat of Christ. Do you know the Lord? What is your testimony? You will be responsible for not speaking up to stop those abortions (etc.) and all those other things.
Sarah: I did receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
Amy: Did you receive the 16 questions that were sent to you? Did you read them?
Sarah: I don't know if I received them. I probably did receive them. No, I didn't read them.
Amy: Here, will you read this (offering my 1 page leaflet)?
Sarah: No, I don't think so. I'm busy and have to get back to the meeting.
Amy: You don't have to read it now. You can take it and read it later; it's short, only 1 paper.
Sarah: No. I have to go.
Amy (As Sarah turns to leave): Have you ever hit anyone with a baseball bat (she doesn't answer)?

This is what I recall right now. If I remember anything else later on I'll add it. 2 questions for you all: what would you ask Sarah Barry given the opportunity? what is your response to my conversation with her?
