There's nothing that says a person has to poop every day. Every person's bowel habits is different.

Shelly is getting the right results - in terms of what goes in the top and what comes out the bottom - so she has every reason to plough ahead, using any force/any punishments necessary to give her boy the dirt-pipe-flushing he needs. Butt of course I'm pessimistic - I have to say be prepared for the possibility that your son may never learn to accept the treatment, and his excremental-output may never lastingly improve. I never thought I'd still be flushing out my (sort-of)-fully-grown daughter let alone my teenaged second-cousin.

Btw: Tim, you need to educate yourself - colorectal autointoxication is a real danger, and infrequent doohs are never ok

Several others appear to have given you some good advice and encouragement. It wasn't until a bit later in life, that Ireally began to enjoy enemas and colon cleansing. Mom and grandma were a bit rough as I got enemas as a kid. They did their job with support of my pediatrician and his nurse.

I began to self-administer at age 6. While it was only on occasion, by the time I was 9, I had become pretty good at it. Mom a d grandma seemed to accept this, except when the doctor ordered enemas or upon getting prepped for surgery or discharge from the hospital.

Hopefully, he will become more accepting and cooperative. Enemas are always better when given in a nurturing fashion. That is also a given between adults!

You're doing the right thing with your daughter, Sue. It's comforting to know that in some families, enemas and suppositories are given to full grown daughters and sons when needed.
