Photo evidence can be falsified (don't ask how I know - it's "ach, metadata schmetadata!"). If you're in this shituation, which amounts to adult potty-training, you need to be present when the patient is doing a dooey, to observe it and observe how much they have to struggle to do (if at all). And if that means you take bodily autonomy away and forcibly "do" them with an enema or suppository, so be it.

I have mixed thoughts on accepting a picture if she has a bowel movement on her own. She needs to be given some sense of autonomy. If she is able to have a bowel movement on her own I would tell her no flushing until she comes and tells me. I will usually say 'great, good job, you may flush'. But she knows that I will on occasion go verify that she did BM. If she brings a picture from school or else where I would just let her know that again, once in a while she is subject to a digital rectal exam to verify her rectum is empty. And if she ever lies or tries to trick then any talk about her having had a bowel movement out of my presence will not be accepted and she will have to have her rectum emptied before bedtime.
