The thought that this is it and your life is finite just doesn't sit well with some folks. Its to bad because we do live in an eden. Preoccupation with this notion of eternal life just wastes what is really important. As you point out we all end up on our knees in the end. Some of just have more fun along the way. Meanwhile, Noah was building an Ark because God told him to. It was a Way to save God's people from destruction. The Ark was a type of Christ. Jesus is the Way that saves God's people from the destruction that a life lived for oneself leads to. Like the Ark that Noah built, Jesus is the Ark for today. Hell is real. Hello! All you have to do to experience it is to step out of your comfort zone on fat mountain and see that most people lead lives of quiet desperation (Thereau said this and he was a big appreciator of God's creation). Having fun along the Way that leads to Life is exactly what it is all about, my blessed friend. You would make an excellent Christian! Get right with God and you can have the best of both worlds!
