Jesus is the Way to true freedom!

Jesus is the Word of God!

Jesus is the Light of the world!

"He came to His own and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name." - John 1:11,12

Have you received Jesus? if so, do you know that you are a child of God and a joint heir with Jesus Christ?

An heir with the most high! This means you have an inheritance! What do you inherit when you receive Jesus? Eternal Life, for starters! But more, so much more! All the promises of God are yes and amen and are available to each and every person who receives Jesus as Lord and Savior!

what are the benefits?

Salvation! Health! Prosperity! Wholeness in Spirit, Soul and Body; Shalom, nothing missing, nothing broken to the glory of God! And it is not for some distant time, but NOW, today is the day! No matter what you may be experiencing in the natural, for the believer, we are to call those things which be not, as though they were! Not to deny that we have or are experiencing brokeness, sickness, lack, or that we have feelings, but not to dwell there, but rather to confess what the Word says and to believe what God has said we have become possesors of, through confessing our faith in Him!

There is therefore NOW no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according the flesh but according to the Spirit. Rom 8:1-4

And Galations 3:13,14 says, "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."

I am no longer under the curse, as I once was! I am a child of the blessing. Everything I have in Christ, all of the covenant promises, everything, is mine through faith in Jesus! I may not be able to see it all in the natural today, but I have it! I have received it! This is the good news that Jesus came to give us...freedom from every form of earthly bondage! John 10:10 says it is thief, who comes to steal, to kill and destroy, I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly! Not that we can earn it by our own good works, though good works will be byproducts of His grace, but that we are offered it, all of it, as a free gift Today. If you hear His voice don't harden your heart.

Freely I have received and freely I give from the light that I have. Don't wait till the end of your life to drink from the cup of salvation. Don't wait till the end of your life to eat of the bread of life. Come to the Father through the Son.

Jesus = the Light = the Way = the Truth = the Life = the Word = Jesus!

Jesus speaking, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice (today) and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me." - Rev. 3:20

Perhaps you've never made a commitment to Christ. His Way is being offered to all who come by here Today. Perhaps you have fallen away from God through disobedience and unbelief. You can be restored Today. I am not ashamed of the gospel! In receiving Jesus I have received the gift that keeps on giving...by abiding in Him, I know His Truth and it is making me free, day by day!

Jesus is NOT a religion! HE is a person who is ALIVE and well and living in the hearts of those who have received Him. Because of this, I will NEVER DIE! Yes, my body will die, but when it does, don't mourn for me, for I will not be dead! Heaven is my home; this life I live in this body is only temporary!

God's word says in Hebrews 11:6 that "without faith it is impossible to please Him (I know because for years I have tried to please Him without it!), for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who dilligently seek Him."

Do you believe it? Just receive it and be blessed! Get into His word and find out all of the covenant promises and discover how free you can be!

In Jesus name! Amen!

I have found freedom in the Word of God!

Like Peter Paul and Mary sang about in the protest song by Pete Seeger, If I had a hammer;

I'd hammer out danger, I'd hammer out a warning, I'd hammer out love between my brothers and my sisters, all over this land!

And God provides it in His WORD to us!

Jeremiah the prophet in 23:29 likened God's word to a fire and a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces.

That rock is oppression and deceit that governs all those who follow the ruler of this world. But God's word exposes the truth of any given situation in our lives and destroys the yoke of oppression and bondage.

One word from God can change your life forever! For me it was Galations 3:13!

With God's word we have the hammer that breaks the rock of every injustice and sets the captives free!

God is Love!

And He gave us the answer in Jesus because He so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - John 3:16

Jesus does not take anything away from us except our sin and our bondage to it. He wants to restore us to the garden of eden in this life! He is NOT a religion, He is THE WAY to FReedom beyond our wildest dreams!

I was a born again Christian for 10 years and still in bondage before the word came to me that I had been redeemed by Christ from the curse of the law!

I thought my righteousness was contingent on my own good works and the word clearly says His grace is a gift from God lest any man boast!

As a Christian, I still sin, but I have an advocate with the Father when I do, who will forgive me and cleanse me of ALL unrighteousness; When I acknowledge my sin I'm right back in good standing with the Father as if I'd never sinned! (like when your child comes to you and acknowledges the wrong doing that you already knew about, you may still have to measure out discipline, but you do it with tears of joy!)

I am the righteousness of God in Christ!

If i murder you, i still must pay the price in this world for my wrong doing, but if I acknowledge my sin before God, I am cleansed and can be free, even in a prison cell!

This is about as extreme as it gets down here, but to God, sin is sin..so repent sinner and believe the gospel! freedom (heaven) is calling you!

then according to the Word of God, you HAVE either received the forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ, The Messiah, Son of the Most High, or you are in utter darkness!

The hope of the gospel can be summed up in the words of Jesus from John chapter 6, starting in vs 35:

"And Jesus said to them, 'I am the bread of life, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all HE has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day (the bride of Christ). And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

This is the hope of ALL who are truly born again! It truly is this good news that blows away any fear, or any negative headlines in our lives! We as the children of the most high God have been joined together in this amazing family to a heavenly FAther who loves us with such an unfathomable love! He has said that He will never leave me, nor forsake me! I know where I am going and it starts TODAY, in this life. I have authority as a son of the most high...I may not 'feel' like it when the world closes in on me, but the Word of God never changes! I can choose heaven TODAY!

I know that HE is there and when I press in, He will sustain me by His word, which is life and truth. vs 47 of John confirms it, again Jesus speaking, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and are dead. This is the bread (the Word of God) which came down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world."

Jesus said in the greatest sermon ever preached, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled." - Matt 5:6

This is why He said to the Samaritan woman at the well, when He asked her for a drink of water: "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water." - John 4:10. And when she asked Him what He was talking about, He said, "Whoever drinks of this water (from her well) will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will 'never thirst.' But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life."

It's true folks, this water is living and abiding in the heart of every born again believer. But it must be stirred up and mixed with faith! and faith comes by hearing - Rom 10:17...Awakening to this truth is all the church needs to end ALL suffering forevermore and return to the garden of eden right here in the land of the living. With man it is impossible, but with God all things are possible!

It IS happening! even now as I speak. There is a train in the station. It's picking up passengers and you don't need no ticket, just get on board! Jesus went on to say to the samaritan woman, "Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. You worship what you do not know (this could be any lifeless religion today that we practice to satisfy our fleshly desires, or some intellectual pusuit, but it can never quench that desire deep within us); we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews (now He's giving it to His own religious people). BUT the hour IS COMING, AND NOW IS, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeeeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." john 4:21-24

The Jesus men and women of today, as in the great awakenings of generations past, will be coming out of all the world's religions because He is the true reconciler of God and man. The gifts of God for the people of God, for all times and available to ALL, right now, TODAY.

It is truly an exciting time to be alive and making a stand for Christ, the anointed One and His anointing! Our lives will never be the same as we allow the Word of Truth to change us from the inside out!

Miracles are happening! Lives are changing! The biggest miracle in my life is that the Word of God is changing ME!

I am seeking change in my life, because I know that 'Change IS the evidence of God's power.'

And it comes through living by Faith and walking in Love, the only command that Jesus said was needed!

It is the simpicity of the gospel; not like the gnostic's who claim to have some secret knowledge, but the shear simplicity that even a child can understand. 'yes, Jesus loves me.' This is the mystery, folks! Jesus loves YOU!

Heb 11:6 says, "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he (that's me) who comes to God MUST BELIEVE that HE is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek HIM."

When we allow God to change us there are great rewards that come, but we must be willing to allow Him entrance and then expect to hear from HIM!

I have once again preached myself happy! Thanks be to God and to Shane for inspiring this little Bible study.

When the Truth abides in you, it truly will make you FREE!

the Light has pierced the darkness!

Paul to the church at Ephesus:

"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light. (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.

Therefore He says:

Awake you who sleep
Arise from the dead.
And Christ will give you light."

Ephesians 5:8-14 (New King James Version)

The true Light is Christ!

no christ, no light

Know Christ, know light! Amen!

the joy of the Lord IS my strength!

without Him I can do no-thing, but with Him ALL things are possible for me. WOW! that's a lot right there!

As long as there is breath there is hope for those who are yet outside the faith!

Now faith IS the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. - Heb 11:1 - It is a Bible principle but it will work for you in whatever you are activating it towards; whatever you have faith in.

what are you hoping for besides the temporary satisfaction of your fleshly desires in this life?

Do you have faith in that beer to save you from your misery today?

Do you contemplate anything beyond what you can see or feel? Do you believe in an afterlife?

The Bible says "that which is seen is temporary, but that which is unseen is eternal."

What are you going after? Eternal Life with no fleshly constraints sounds good to me. The Bible tells us how to get there and how to have fun while we're at it. If it ain't fun, why do it?

I would also highly recommend any of you so-called Christians out there who may be searching the web for answers and who do not have certainty in what you believe, read the whole chapter of 2 Corinthians 4, today. It will help you in light of what is being said here on this thread.

May God be praised and glorified forever for sending us His Word to save us from our sins and for guiding us to the end of our lives with joy unspeakable into eternity! Amen.

thanks again, fellers!

"wanting what you have" that's good bob...But I would suggest there is something more and that would be "not wanting" for anything. If you have something already there is no need to desire to have it; it's yours to enjoy!

As the psalmist said, because "The LORD is my shepherd, I shall NOT want." Our desire should not be after things of this world, but ultimately it should be to help others see that as children of God we already have everything to enjoy, not because we have gone after it and achieved it ourselves, but because everything we need is provided to us by God in the first place.

The problems in the world are caused by people who pursue and desire things; lust after (or who don't share with those who have not) that which can never really satisfy. Success in life, money and things that bring pleasure in owning are all part of 'the blessing' that comes from God. Everyone benefits from it, but not everyone acknowleges where it comes from. Contentment is not for some future time when we reach that level of success that allows us to have everything we desire, but it is available to each of us NOW through a personal, day to day relationship with the One who came to teach us the Way to true happiness.

"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to bind up the broken hearted and to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they (us) might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord that He might be glorified." - Isaiah 61:1-3

Jesus is the Way that leads to Life eternal and our relationship with Him starts in the here and NOW!

Repent and believe the gospel!

Tim that's a line from a Sheryl Crow song. The bible is full of junk and causes way more pain and discomfort then any good that ever came from it. The bottom line is that we are all free to think what ever we want. You can believe in the Free Press if you want to. I prefer to take my direction from Nature and leave Man's written word an a category labeled suspect.

The problems in the world are largely caused by people using books to provide guidance. All religions have a simple message which gets corrupted by man attempting to bend the message to serve himself. Over and over gain its right there to see. Those claiming to be in it for the right reasons are really not.

You will never teach people to be nice. Either they are or they are not, simple as that.

If its not free its not freedom

It has all been said on this thread.

You are absolutely right my biker friend, about being free to accept or reject the gospel message. You are free to follow your path wherever it leads you. keep ridin' them trails and you too can find the answer...

As for teaching people. Teachers are for people who are teachable, not for people who reject the message. Ultimately, the Bible says that we who believe need no one to teach us, because the Holy Spirit IS our teacher. The Holy Spirit knows all things and He lives in me! All I have to do is learn to listen and agree with Him. He knows when to buy and when to sell; when to stay and when to go. He leads me and guides me, but I have to be willing to follow and then attentive to His Way and His Way is the Way of Love.

It's not complicated. It is simple enough for a child to understand. To follow the Spirit means to walk in Love.

When love rules, faith reigns.

When it falters, fear enters in and faith can't work. This is why the Bible says 'there is no fear in love' and 'perfect love casts out all fear.'

The simplicity of the Gospel is this. God is love! Receive the gift of Love that God gave through His Son and you will live forever! No strings! No red tape!

'whoever does not receive, as a little child cannot enter the kingdom of God.'

The kingdom of God is the kingdom of love.

When does it start? It starts Today because 'Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things NOT seen." It is an unseen kingdom, but when faith turns to sight it will BE HERE and it will be SOON.

love, ya'll

Tim there is no answer to find. Its all about the journey.

There you go again "Whoever does not receive as a little child cannot enter the kingdom of God"

In short if you don't think like me you are less then me and so sets the stage for all kinds of pain and discomfort.

"When Faith turns to sight it will be here and it will be soon"

Is this some kind of scare tactic? You better watch out the big guy is coming down here and only my club will not be cast into a flaming hole?

Good people can exist without the "Red Tape" Tim. Useful lives can be lived without all your waking thoughts being spent figuring out meaning in bible text.

"being good" has nothing to do with it. You can't earn a place in 'the club' as you put it.

Receiving the gift of forgiveness is a prerequsite to entering the Kingdom, but it IS for everyone, not just for a chosen few. You can't say you haven't been invited to the party! It's childlike faith that gains entrance, but those who remain outside the gate do so at their own choosing, not His.

Jesus IS the answer even if you're too dumb to know the question; AND His Way, His Truth and His Life is where the real journey begins. All trails lead to our knees before the King of Kings no matter who you are; some of us just happen to get there sooner than others. Does that make me a better person? No! It is a fact that He has forgiven all of us, so my acceptance and receipt of this fact only makes me more appreciative at this moment; but you can always catch up!

The fact that I don't think like you doesn't cause me pain or discomfort. If you are experiencing pain or discomfort you might try Tylenol first; then when all else fails, call upon Jesus! He answers all who call upon Him.

Tim the pain and discomfort I refer to are things like Iraq or those idiots protesting earlier in the week. Its the type of thinking based on writing that can be taken anyway you want that turns people into bible zombies. Logic becomes Satanic.

I don't think calling me dumb is constructive, I am only calling you on the post you write. Perhaps if you can't take the reviews you should not post in a public forum?

Facts? You can't use the word Fact when talking about God or Jesus or any religous view. There is no fact in any of it other then the fact that the ideas are not supported by any facts at all. You can prove nothing about any of it Tim. Its all faith unsupported by anything other then what you believe. Man made God and Jesus and the devil. Its a scam that you are (excuse me) to dumb to see. There how do you like it?

Stupid is what those protesters were. Smart is all the fund raising done around their little display. I checked again and the sky is still up there. Nothing came crashing down when the Gay people were allowed to marry. Freedom to marry, hmmm where did I see that word? Oh yea it is the title of this thread.

God is just a way to explain what makes people like you uncomfortable. The thought that this is it and your life is finite just doesn't sit well with some folks. Its to bad because we do live in an eden. Preoccupation with this notion of eternal life just wastes what is really important. As you point out we all end up on our knees in the end. Some of just have more fun along the way.

"Eat drink and be merry, for tommorrow we die!" This is what the people said during the days of Noah.

Meanwhile, Noah was building an Ark because God told him to. It was a Way to save God's people from destruction.

The Ark was a type of Christ. Jesus is the Way that saves God's people from the destruction that a life lived for oneself leads to. Like the Ark that Noah built, Jesus is the Ark for today. Hell is real. Hello! All you have to do to experience it is to step out of your comfort zone on fat mountain and see that most people lead lives of quiet desperation (Thereau said this and he was a big appreciator of God's creation).

Having fun along the Way that leads to Life is exactly what it is all about, my blessed friend.

You would make an excellent Christian!

Get right with God and you can have the best of both worlds! This one AND the world to come!

What is wrong with Quiet desperation? It is better then Loud desperation. I hate Whining.

We just went up to Quebec City. We rode bikes on the plains of Abraham. Its a tourist stop for buses full of old folks wanting to see something. Cannon everywhere on walls which surround the old part of the city. There is a really old church up there built in the 1600's. The local Indians must have hated the whole Christian invasion. They live for 1000's of years in harmony with nature and in a few hundred years its all changed. Hunter gatherer turned sales clerk in a tourist trap. Christian's are mean Tim, just look at the history. So much pain in the name of God.

Freedom is an interesting concept. We are all not really free. We all have our axe to grind. Some are happy grinding it, others just bitch the whole time.

I am off to the get my blue bike and ride it a bit. When you ride at least your free from the conversations with others. Free to think anything you want as long as the CPD's don't get you.

Freedom is more than a concept. It is a promised reality for every believer in Jesus Christ.

The Bible says, "If the Son has set you free than you are free indeed." It is a freedom that cost you and me nothing, But it cost the lover of our souls, everything!

God loved us so much that He sent His only Son to die for us and getting a revelation of that is more valuable than anything. I call it forgiving LOVE. The kind of LOVE that says Father forgive them, for they know not what they do!

Tim I don't care about all that. I think what you read was used over the last 2000 years as a tool to control that part of the population that might buy it. If all you need to believe is to see English text on a page you will pretty much believe anything. Nobody comes back from the dead and the maker of all things probably can't remember this place. If that's the case. He/it/Her did it a very long time ago and if our eyes on the sky see correctly it was done uncountable times in all directions around us. The notion that this is a special place in the universe is unsupportable by any form of reason. I like it just fine but know that places like this likely exist in a very large quantity. The size of our environment is not currently measurable so anything is possible. Wondering about it is pretty cool, using the Bible to explain it is a very narrow view. Why would you think a 2000 year old document translated 100 times would be accurate. Clearly is not the same text as originally written and many of the modifications over time were done to support the special interest of the day. Wake up and begin to free think. You have the same tools the authors had, use them. And get a bike you dumb ass. One with a motor. That's freedom you will not find in a 2000 year old paper back novel

Since the theme of this post is freedom - have you ever seen those bumper stickers that say; "Freedom isn't free"? What a hoot! Freedom is free - that's why they call it freedom!

It is actually the central theme of the Gospel or Good News that someone, JESUS, has paid for your ultimate freedom! In this way freedom IS a free gift, but we must accept it in order to enter into a right relationship with the Father God. Acceptance of the sacrifice that One Man made for all men on the cross of Calvary. Christ's sacrifice is the gift of reconciliation between God and sinners everywhere and at every age. But, as the bumper stickers say this freedom was not free! The price for our freedom was paid once and for all by Jesus through His death on the cross. He did away with the power of sin to harm all those who come into right relationship by accepting His sacrifice for it. We enter into this relationship of forgiveness of sins through an acknowledgement of our own poverty and complete helplessness and hopelessness to ever be able to pay the price for freedom on our own, or through our own pursuits. This is why our relationship to Jesus is the entry point to the only real freedom there is; the freedom from sin! For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God! Come ye sinner and drink from the cup of salvation. When you do, you will not only receive forgiveness from every sin you have ever committed but even more amazingly, you will receive the power to remain free from sin!

That we, as believers, can remain free from sin in this life all the way to tne next is the most important message in this little conveyance on freedom. It is a truth that is not often taught in churches today, but remains fundamental in understanding the goodness of God. The god of this world, the deciever, the accuser of the brethren does not want us to know that we have been promised this kind of true freedom from every adversary. Freedom from sin is not only possible, it is conditional for our insurance of Christ's protection while we live in the flesh on this side of eternity. When we don't honor what we know to be true from holy writ, it is like not paying our insurance premium. When the crisis comes, we have no right to make a claim because our policy has been cancelled! Until we get back in right standing, or our policy is reinstated, our prayers cannot be answered because we have not done what we know to do. It is not knowing the law that keeps us free, but knowing it and keeping it! This is the cost of freedom for the believer!

For me, in my life, success could not come until I made a choice, a decision. The choice was to first believe it and then to follow it. That choice started with my confession of faith; I could not believe without saying I believe. Since then, I have tried to follow without believing it, but it doesn't work. I have tried believing without following and it is worse yet! The victorious Christian life comes as a result of true repentance; acknowledging my inability to live right before God without the light of God's word and then turning toward that light. It is only when I am walking in that light that I can remain free from the sin that so easily besets me.

It is that Word of God which is the light revealed to all who will believe and follow; and the word became flesh and dwelt among us. JESUS was and is the complete manifestation of the word of God.

Now, with my eyes opened to the truth that is revealed in scripture, I can begin to rise above every circumstance and every obstacle in my life through daily contact with this living bread. I cannot avoid trials and tribulation in this life by believing, but I can say with complete coviction that I am free at last, free at last, thank God almighty I am free at last! When the Son sets free, you are free indeed!

Because of Him, I can face tomorrow!
