Back in the late 60's and early to mid 70's my mom was secretarian rodeos, which was the old fashioned way of being at the rodeo several days before it started and taking phone calls for entries. You could go to town and buy an ice cream cone for 10 cents. The day before the rodeo started the ice cream cone was 25 cents until the rodeo ended. Gas prices would jump up 5 cents a gallon back then. Sounds like after all these years local business's are continuing the tradition. -- RODEO RAMBLINGS
