someone told me that when you hear the name Mohammod (peace be upon him) during the azan you should kiss your thumbs and place them near your eyes to show respect is this true.

Praise be to Allah.

Tell the peopel who told you such a ridiculous thing to show you the sahih evidence from the Quran and Sunnah that shows Allah or his prophet ordering this.. or show from the sunnah whereas any of the Sahabah did this silly act upon reciting the Prophet(saw) name.

If they can not produce their evidence, (which they will not be able to produce) then tell them to sit down and Shut up.

Anyone who makes conditions in the religion that Allah or his prophet did not make, will have it rejecte [Bukhari]

Anyone who introduces anything new into this religion will have it rejected..[Bukhari and Muslim]

Anyone who lies on Allah or his Prophet(saw) will take their seats in hell..[Bukhari]
