When the Imam is reciting surah Fatiah and after recited Surah fatiah out loud and then he say the Ameen. Some Imams pause for a few seconds after saying Ameen in the loud prayer and then they start to recite any surah from he qur'an.

My question is, Is this a Bid'ah because the Prophet didn't do it nor the companions did it. they didn't pause for a few seconds and the people behind can recite their surah Fatiah?

Muhammed Jibally from America said it is a Bidah.

Is ita bid'ah to pause for a fews seconds for the other people to recite surah fatiah becuase The prophet and the companions didn't do it.

So is it a bid'ah for the Imam to pause between Ameen and reciting any verse of the Qur'an?

As Salamu Alaikoum,

Praise be to Allah.

Bidah refers to the introduction of anything into Islam that was not introduced by the Prophet(saw).

If the Prophet(saw) did not do it.. then you do not do it. If the Prophet(saw) did do it.. then you do it too.

One of the first things Allah will question us about on the day of Judgement is our salat. Salat is an act of worhip and it must be performed the way the prophet(saw) instructed us to perform it. We can not add to it or take away from it. To do so is Bidah.

So if you have someone praying and pausing after the Ameen for people to recite the fatiha, then this is definitely exhibiting an act of Bidah or innovation, because this is something the prophet(saw) never did and neither did his sahabah.

Ask them to show you from the Sahih evidences where the Prophet(saw) or any of his Sahabah did such a thing!

"All innovation leads to the hellfire..." [Bukhari]

"Whoever introduces something into this deen will have it rejected..." [Bukhari]

"Anyone who lies on Allah or his prophet(saw) will take his seat in hell..." [Bukhari]

Stay away from Bidah!

AND ALLAH KNOWS BEST
