Jiania looked at the girl who was trying to talk to Auriga. She smiled slightly. The girl would make a good diplomat. Jiania slid back into the kitchens to check on her flit egg. As she looked at the two new eggs, she left her hand on her own egg. Would she ever be as kind as Brynn or as vibrant as Varda? And the new girl looked calm and in control, perfectly centered. Jiania sighed. All she wanted was a dragonet, and with the news of the overlarge green.. Jiania wanted more than anything to see the eggs, but she wouldn't go against orders. Once again, Jiania could see the leather whips coming down on her as she questioned as poked about, learning. "What if the Headwoman was right? What if my parents really were Harpers?" Jiania asked the flit eggs, eyes lighting up at the tales she remembered. The Headwoman had told her that she suspected Jiania had a good head on her shoulders and she should use it. The egg under Jiania's hand shook slightly, cracks forming over the surface. Jiania looked down as the bronze burst from its shell. "Shadows!" Jiania cried out in surprise. The bronze cheeped to her. "Shadow?" Jiania tried it out again. The name fit with the dark bronze flit.
