David,

The entire context of John, chapters 14-17 is context dealing with Jesus and His apostles. The Spirit, in that context, was to be THEIR comforter. Where is the promise that the Holy Spirit would be our advocate/comforter as He was for the apostles, and what does that have to do with miraculous healing today? That entire context is dealing with Jesus and the promise to send the Spirit to the apostles and that He would guide THEM into all truth - not us! He would bring things to THEIR memory - not ours! Context, context, context!

Yes, faith is one thing, but faith has nothing to do with any alleged miraculous activity today. So God answered your prayer with a miracle but for another He would not? Sounds like God is a respector of persons after all, if that is what you are suggesting? The only thing that you offer as proof is simply that "it must be" because you can't explain it? Again, more personal, subjective feelings acting as your sole proposition that it was miraculous activity.

The miracles of Jesus were a part of His ministry declaring Him to be the Son of God. Those miracles were Divine proof, evidence, signs and confirmation that what He had to say was from the Father and that He was the Messiah.

Doug
