Now that Moseley have secured their status for next season - and they could still finish top of this little relegation league if Bees go out with a big bang against Esher and Moseley keep their act together against Plymouth - then the team planning should begin in earnest. We certainly need to hold on to Chevvy - whatever the price and, for me De la Harpe. I truly think that he is most improved player in the Moseley squad.

I must be honest and confess that earlier in the season I thought de la Harpe was a liability. His enthusiasm has always been beyond question but his ability - particularly with a pass that was all over the place - was not. However, what you see now is a totally different player. How he has matured and harnessed his darting, quick silver break along with an accurate in the belly pass into something much more potent that commands respect form his opposite number. Well done lad, stay with us and develop even more.

And Ollie. We must keep him and not just for his goal kicking, though it is important, but for his ability to create something from nothing - not quite enough yet - but he can only improve.

And all of the team, paricularly the 'first choice' players should stay and unite in their collective ability. One or two have been a bit dissapointing in overall performance and should perhaps reconsider their future; one or two who die with the ball instead of making that crucial pass must learn when to open up; and one or two must learn to defend much better. Overall, I feel there is a good pool of players to take the club forward.

However, we need more young blood - Pons is a good example - to compliment our more senior players who must be finding it difficult at times. To put it into perspective, when I was 30 I used to puff and blow just getting to the pitch, at 50 I even tripped over the touch line I was that knackered just warming up. So lads, those of you with potential, stay with us lads. Those of you who have given us good service also stay with us. But and a very gig BUT you must be prepared to put in the hard yards. I can't help you out on the field of play now lads - my knees are worse the Warros - but I can help you from the stand and the terraces. Come on Mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooose.

Sorry lads. Have not got the first idea why my last message is all the way across the page. Perhaps one of you IT lads could tell me and coach me, 'cause I haven't got a clue, not a clue. When I were a lad carrier pigeons flew in one straight line - so there may be a connection. Come on Moooooooose.

Blimey Phil - I got seasick trying to read your post !

In addition to the players you mention, I thought Carter had a solid season & never let anyone down. I always like Armitage & Borgen - but they never got much game time at the death...so what do I know.

Plus - aren't the relegation playoffs so exciting, we might be bored paying in another pool?

For me they are not. They are nerve wracking and not enjoyable at all. We should not have been in the relegation playoffs at all with the squad we had. I'd rather have been able to enjoy promotion play off games as every one would have been a bonus.

C.O. I agree entirely!!! Hate the thought of a nail biteing & disasterous end to a season...better to be able to 'plan ahead' & play with style, knowing that every win is a bonus & a scalp... & every loss is not going to perhaps send the club spinning out of control down through the leagues...there are plenty of recent examples of this sad occurance. Manchester being the most severe...But also look at the position of Launceston, Otley, Sedgly Pk. Even Cov have had a tough season. I would rather Mose kept out of that sh++ fest!! With the squad we have & with a few judicious changes we can be top 8 next season...The lads know how to win. BUT.....
In my humble opinion, I just think that there is no substitute for core team continuity.....(which we have had of late!!)

Have to agree, I'm sort of frustrated with the end of season dog fight for survival, Its surely no coincidence that a more settled team has pulled the rabbit out of the hat and started performing like a team who can win games consistently.

I too find the relegation playoffs anything but exciting - the disastrous prospect of possibly going down means that I can't enjoy the games because of the anxiety generated and I don't go to the away games for that reason.

This year there was also the prospect of the visit to the grotty little football ground at Damson Lane with its cramped, tiny stand and generally very unpleasant spectator experience - and I speak as one who used to enjoy the ground at Sharmans Road.

It seems so unfair that whilst the team coming down from the Premiership with its Golden Parachute usually boringly waltzes through the Championship winning all its games (Bristol being the only exception) the team from the Championship loses all its professional and semi professional players and has to start again from scratch in a league where all other teams are at least settled. That happened to Coventry, and I'm surprised that they have managed to do as well as they have - half way down the league at last sight.

But then, I suppose Rugby never was a particularly fair game with that shaped ball and a ref who can't see all that goes on. Bit like life really!

Speaking to supporters from Bedford when they came to us the other day, they seemed to think that their success is based on supporters buyng shares in the club. Would that be a way forward for us?

We are not familiar with the structure at Bedford but supporters certainly have been able to buy shares in Moseley and some people have done so in the past. For practical administrative reasons we think these have been in minimum batches of about £500. We are advised that the Company Secretary of the club(who is a lawyer) advised there there are statutory reporting requirements if a general offer of shares is made. This would include the production of a detailed and formal prospectus which is very expensive and would probably cost a number of times what the club would get in from issuing the shares.

If anyone is interested in buying shares they could make enquiries in confidence to the club at info@moseleyrugby.co.uk and we will pass this on the relevent experts on this within the club.

I hold shares in Moseley rugby club. I couldn't really afford to buy them when I did but, at the time I did, the survival of Moseley was paramount. Come on Mooooooooooooose. ( short Mooooooooooose )

As £500 is beyond what most supporters can afford is this something that the MSA could do? Perhaps asking fans for a one-off donation that would be used to buy shares and/or having a bucket collection to support this?

The MSA would not be able to purchase shares, however if people were interested in a donation scheme that goes directly to the club, then this is something we may be able to look at if enough people were interested. If you are and have suggestions then please email moseleysupporters2010@gmail.com

Sorry for getting excited in the playoff guys - its has gone a bit like:
before match -anticipation
during match - nervous
moseley try - elation
opponents try - despondent
opponents lead - nauseous
Ollie drop - brilliant
opponents knock on - yes
moseley lead - fantastic
moseley win - excited
bar - p***ed

Re shares very interesting. How many are issued, who owns them, not sure MSA could buy, who would have voting rights, are there any voting rights, how would it benefit club, is it just a donation - but its a good idea, worth investigating.
