thanks for your great answer, didge! the bit about it being spread by birds or whatever, sounds interresting. since it was the epiphyllums that got me interested in cacti in the first place,just planted rainbow fruit seeds today which apparently germinates well...so that would also explain why aus. hasn't got any hm..sort of anyway...
