While I was at the recent Del Mar GPAA gold show I was told by the Minelab Regional Manager that the Eureka Gold could find 1/10th grain gold. I did not press him for with which coil or in which frequency. However, my ol' 17000 in 32kHz with the 6-inch circular DD coil sold in Australia for the 18000 is hard to beat. As an example it handles the mineralization as found in lower Rochester canyon to the east of Ryepatch Dam (western Nevada) very well.

Also, several detectorists that I'm acquainted with also use the 18000 in organized hunts. One fellow I know did surprizingly well with his 18000 at the Antelope Valley organized hunt last fall. He was able to find the good targets in amongst the trash. (Are you out there Mr. P?)
