Howdy to both Jims--the howdy should be a giveaway--live in TX, but spend a few months a year snipin' you fellers' gold nuggets (actually I spend quite a bit of time in NM--contary to popular belief, there is course gold there). By the way, I sincerely appreciate your input! Yeah, I've got some time in the field (30+ years), but not living in "gold country" and only having so much time to hunt, I'm having trouble justifying (in my mind) a 2-3 thousand dollar detector. On the other hand, if the depth stories are true and I'm walking over the same ground, then how can I not justify it? I know you see my dilemma. Please feel free to contact me off the board if you have a recommendation. Jim Straight, thanks for your welcome, and rest assured that I didn't do anything special with that old BFO--the nugget was big enough to find with a witchin' stick. Thanks again to you both, and
Kind regards,
Phil Phillips
