Gregg, most of the good nugget hunting areas around Randsburg are under claim by various clubs. If you go there on a weekend, drive around until you see somebody prospecting, approach them, get friendly, and ask if this is a club claim, if they are a member, and if so, could you be their guest to detect there for teh day. MOST clubs permit members to invite guests, and I find that most club members are quite willing to invite someone on their claim. If you get a "no" from one person, find another. BUT... never detect without permision, very un-cool. Most of the serious nugget hunting is directly south of the Yellow Aster, over the ridge, in what is known as the Stinger District. The Rand Mtns, to the W/nw of Randsburg are good, too, i.e. Goler Gulch, Mormon Gulch, etc. Randy Seden goes there a lot, you migh want to connect with him some weekend. If you see a Elmer Fudd-looking guy, driving a silver S-10, or green ranger, swinging a chest mount GMT, that will likely be me. HH Jim
