Patsy, I'm so very sorry about the death of your friend. You may recall that I was born and raised in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate NY. My parents are both gone. My brother and his wife moved to Fredericksburg, VA years ago and my sis and her family are in Ft. Myers, FL. I subscribe to the online newspaper from our old home in upstate NY and after forwarding the obituaries of two dear family friends to my siblings in the past 2 weeks, I told the Lion that it's getting to the point where I don't even want to write to them anymore. I remember my father telling me that he stopped going to funerals when he realized one day that he'd found himself sitting in a pew and no one had died. He was wearing that funny smirk that I loved so much.

And now he's gone, too...and life goes on.

I absolutely adore the story of your cop. Angels appear in the strangest forms sometimes, don't they?
