Subject: Questions/Issues etc

I've just downloaded WatchetBurn! and, after playing around with it I have a few questions/issues (all relate to latest version running on W2K SP2):

1. When creating a project I find I have to explicitly select the node I wish to drag new folders on to rather than implicitly drop the folders on to a node during the drop operation. Although I've now got my head around this it does seem a little substandard.

2. Consider the following folder structure:
a
a\b
a\c

When creating a backup project, I drop a\c and the backup folders plane shows me a\c as a selected node and a\b as unselected. I cannot at this point get WatchetBurn! to select the a\b node - it always remains with a red X (although it does perform the recalculation)

3. Several times during the drag and drop operations I get various error dialogs - although no real harms comes from them so whilst a tad bit annoying, they are currently livable with for now.

4. At the end of each and every burn operation I see that WatchetBurn! shuts itself down resulting in me having to fire it up again. Why?

5. Is there anyway to modify the drag and drop operations so you can perform this without it recalculating the disk space requirements?

6. Whilst I appreciate that you have no control over the ISO9660 standard, I do feel that sticking with that standard when you’re dealing with backup files is a mistake. I have several deep nested folders with long file names. I do feel a backup program should be able to deal with these and leave them intact. Whilst doing so would leave you with a CD that wasn’t readable from any ISO9660 system, what are the chances of creating an archive file first and burning the archive to disk?

7. The last backup I performed failed with a write error but there was no indication of this anywhere unless I delved into the log file. Any chances of making such errors a little more ‘visible’?

Many thanks for your time.

Regards

Rachel
