Actually, if you are wearing powered goggles, you can still use a snorkel to breathe. Just attach the snorkel to the elastic band of the goggles and remember to breathe in through your mouth. To prevent water getting into your nose, breathe out through your nose or wear a noseclip. This will allow your face to remain underwater and enjoy the sights without having to surface for air.
