I work for a small company (a beer distributor) who has 50-60 employees. I am the office manager and the only female on the job except on Thursdays, when another girl comes in to help with payroll. I started work at this place on 4/27/06 and when I was interviewd by the one day per week girl and the other girl that was leaving, I was told by them that it was an atmosphere of a lot of profanity and that the guys yell and curse alot at the Office Manager. But the part time girl on another interview told me it only occurred with the girl who was leaving because she was young and flirty with the guys and brought it on herself. So I was discouraged of whether to take the job or not, but it was really good pay and benefits, so I accepted the position. Well, its been "HELL" from day one. I get yelled at, cursed at, & I have had to listen to 2 of the bosses discussing about masterbating. One boss even asked me to come here one day, and he showed me how much pee was on the floor after he used the bathroom. The other boss who does the accounts payable and signs the paychecks has a basket on his file cabinet to put invoices into to be paid, yells and cusses at me when I put bills in his basket, especially after he just emptied it out.
The "Route Drivers" are terrible to. When they come in at the end of the day, they are out in the warehouse drinking beer from the keg they have on tap everyday. They've made comments to me when I leave in the evening and I have to lock the front door from the inside and walkout thru the warehouse such as, "Hey, how about some fries with that shake."
On another occasion, one of the route drivers who was calling in an order, yelled and cussed at me because his cell phone kept cutting out and he got mad at me and said,"What the F- - k is your problem, are you f- - - king deaf?" I got so upset, I started to cry. I told the part time girl about it, she has been there 6 yrs, and she says just to blow him off, because she feels as if they are like her brothers and thay have spats with eachother and get over it.
WHAT SHOULD I DO??? I hate it so much and don't even want to go to work and my blood pressure is elevated, and it has never been elevated.
