I think it is important to distinguish between the different levels of students, but I also think that we should encourage interaction as much as possible between the levels, as they can help eachother a lot.
We should try to communicate to the upperclassmen that they are seen as role models to the freshmen. They have a lot of knowledge of things such as rules or just where resources are on campus. RA's should consider the upperclassmen as resources as well. If a freshmen needs help with calculus and you have a senior in your hall that is a TA, make sure you introduce them to each other.
I really think the upperclassmen can help the freshmen be more involved in the community by just teaching them what they know and by encouraging the freshmen to get involved.
