CATCH UP ONE:
Two subjects I'd like to see you cover in detail:

1) enganyo
2) how strike patterns relate to footwork patterns. I mean mathematically. As in, if you're doing a sinawali with even
numbers, and you're walking a triangle, the sinawali pattern will flipflop in "texture" with every circuit you make
around the triangle. What application does that have to combat?

OK, A QUICKIE:

ENGANYO:
Enganyo (faking) is more than just faking-tricking... it must set up a mindset-reaction w/in the adversary. This means the "enganyo" must be taken as "real"... specific actions more so than others generate the reactions we wish from the opponent. It is those set up reactions which we then exploit--use to win.
Faking is often taught as part of a thrusting sequence...
Faking can be applied via words and physical actions...
Faking can be done w/ body actions (body fakes)...
Faking is quite often a complicated series of minute tactics, ruses, baits and physical actions based upon superior body mechanics.
Faking must exploit the human weaknesses.

FOOTWORK:
Whew.. footwork and all thats related could take up volumes.
The "triangle" (Tiga) is mobile, not fixed, in some cases it will flip flop... The triangle when used to move around an opponent for purposes of attack, defense, set up and more.
It can grow into a star, a square or cone...

The action of figure eight footwork based upon the cross and the circle employs the inside and outside stepping actions that comprise langkah tiga...... (6 ranges)
Many times the patterns smooth up in action... what is taught as two point to point triangles (hourglass) comes out in combat as more of a figure eight (you can see the commonality)... From this circling--encompassing footwork I seek foot and leg traps... ANY STANCE or footwork system can be applied to this universal matrix
Four Count:
2 inner, 2 outer
Then add whatever technical variations to suit your needs and background........

Discovery and creativity makes you a master. Mas Ayoob (Gunman) uses the "Stressfire Star" based on triangulated action. It's a super way to shoot kneeling, cover several directions safely and still remain somehwat mobile and level on the plane of protective cover. He took the idea from martial arts, Aikido uses this method extensively in matwork, throwing etc... Even JUDO has Nage No kata that contain the motion... BUT>>>> it was NEW to gunmen, SO..
triangulation theories in combat are still developing. Tanks, soccer, Kali, ground troops, satellites and more
use triangles in their plays.....

DOUG: No magic here, just curiousity
